SeeDeleted rebuilds tweets from public web archives. This page explains what we store when you use the site. It covers seedeleted.com and the archives it produces.
When you check an account
- We store the username you searched and the result of the check (counts and a short preview) for 24 hours, so a repeated search does not query the archives again.
- Your IP address is used to rate-limit free checks. We do not write it to our database.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages lead to a purchase. It sets its own cookies and receives your IP address and browser details; it does not receive the usernames you search. Google's privacy policy applies. You can block it with any ad blocker or with Google's opt-out add-on, and the site works the same.
- We do not run advertising.
When you buy an archive
- Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the checkout page.
- From Stripe we receive the payment status, the amount, the email address you entered and payment events such as refunds. We keep these with your order so we can help if something goes wrong.
- The recovered archive is stored for 30 days and is reachable only through your private order link. After that it is deleted.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps standard request logs.
- The short AI summary in the free check is written by Anthropic's Claude, reached through the AI gateway EvoLink. They receive the public text of a few archived tweets and the sample counts, never your details.
- To build an archive, our servers request pages from the Internet Archive, archived mirror sites and X's public embed service. These requests come from our servers, not from your browser, and do not include your details.
Accounts that appear in archives
We only use pages that were public when they were archived. If you own an X account and do not want it searched here, email optout@seedeleted.com from an address we can match to the account. We will exclude it from the free check and from new orders.
Your choices
Email support@seedeleted.com to see the order data we hold about you or to have it deleted early. We answer within a few working days.
